Following its highly successful debut in 2023, TWO ROOKS MATE is thrilled to announce the return of the award-winning play Exhibition by Derek Masterson. Directed by the multi-award-winning James Power, and featuring an exceptional cast including Yvette Byrne, Gemma Harvey, Janet Little, Shane Quigley-Murphy, and Barry Roe, the production will be staged at:

A successful artist who has made “art out of her pain” is about to unveil her newest and boldest work to date, but before she does, she brings together her estranged siblings for a sneak peak of the exhibit. What ensues is an utterly dysfunctional but healing get-together.

This is a personal dark Irish play that attempts to understand the agony and devastation of growing up with an alcoholic mother, yet also looks to comprehend the pain of what it is to be an alcoholic mother. It also analyses the direct negative impact on the relationships of those that grow up within the same toxic household and aspires to show there is always hope to rebuild relationships no matter how fractured.

Exhibition is the latest work by Derek Masterson, an award-winning Irish playwright, screenwriter, and poet with thirteen staged productions to his name. Even before its debut, the play garnered significant recognition. In December 2021, Exhibition received the Runner-Up prize in the DLI/ADCI Playwriting Competition. This was followed by winning the prestigious Scriptwriting & Co. Posterity Award (Stage) in Bath, U.K., in April 2022. After much anticipation, Exhibition had a highly successful debut run in Autumn 2023.
